Missed Personal Effects Accounting Document at PR Landing

Hello Everyone!

I just finished the PR landing process and returned back to US. On my way back, I realized that I didn't submit both the BSF186 documents at CBSA, though I carried them with me. Neither the officer asked me about them (I know it's my responsibility to get them stamped). The officer asked me if I was carrying anything and I said "No" other than my cell phone as I just drove to the border. It didn't even strike me to submit the documents when the officer asked, how much cash I was carrying. I was carrying less than 100 USD.

How can I get the BSF186 documents stamped now? Or, do I need to get them stamped before I move to Canada or could I just cross the border without any hassles when I move permanently to Canada?

Please advise.

Thanks!

By the sounds of it you have just completed a soft landing as you have gone back to the US. No problem, get your GTA and GTF forms stamped when you cross the border to 'land as settler' (ie land for good). This is when it should be done anyway.

It is not necessary to submit BSF186 if you are only doing a soft landing. You can have it stamped when you move to Canada permanently.

Sorry I know this thread is quite old, but I have landed and completed my landing precedures (COPR) - not a soft landing. I indend to settle. However, I was also not asked by the officer for the completed form (although I had to complete the customs declaration card). I had no accompanying goods (only my luggage) and I've checked and I wouldn't have been liable for any duties in any case. Should I go to a CBSA inland office and submit the form or is it nothing to be worried about since I'm not planning on bringing anything else from my home country.

Shouldn't be big deal since you did your (permanent) landing.
