I’m currently filling out my application for PR through the RCIP and I’m a bit stressed about a discrepancy I found. While reviewing my past applications, I realized that the work history dates I listed on my original Study Permit and PGWP applications don’t match the official records I have now.

Looking at my official job certificate from my country now, it shows I have about 3 months of registered employment, but on my past forms, I had estimated it as a full year. Since this foreign experience doesn't count towards the 1-year minimum for RCIP (only my Canadian experience at my current job counts for that), I didn't gain any points or eligibility from the wrong dates. My Canadian work history, hours, and T4s are all 100% accurate and documented perfectly.

Has anyone dealt with something similar where foreign dates were estimated incorrectly on past temporary resident files? I’m worried IRCC will flag this as a consistency issue or misrepresentation, even though it wasn't intentional and doesn't change my eligibility. Should I just put the correct dates on my PR form now and explain the mistake in a Letter of Explanation, or is there a better way to handle this?

Enter the correct foreign employment dates on your PR application and include a brief Letter of Explanation stating the previous dates were estimated and unintentional. Emphasize that it doesn’t affect your Canadian work experience or eligibility.
