My sister applied for her study permit on May 28th from Bangladesh. The CIC website claims it takes about 4-5 weeks to get approved from there. However it has been 11 weeks but no response from them other than just the medical request. She did her medical at the very beginning of July. Her course starts on August 22. Needless to say, she won't be able to start her course on time and most likely it has to be deferred to 2018. Does anyone know why there is such a delay?

This is so dissappointing!!

It is only an estimate and there has been a huge increase in applications for study visas from certain countries.

Canada is getting a lot more study permits because of the political climate in the US. People are more keen now to come and study in Canada than they are in the US. Which I suppose for many students from differing countries, you can't blame them.

Millions every year

Unfortunately I think many people will have to defer enrollment, I would encourage other to try and apply 4 months in advance if possible.
