Hello Everyone,

This is about my non accompanying minor dependent child which i did include in my application in Canada spouse sponsorship. The Canada embassy in Manila did sent an email requesting my dependent child to submit his own application like IMM 0008, etc. My question is that my minor child has no passport yet. should i just leave blank or put N/A under national security section on his application OR is it necessary for him to get his passport this time although he is not going to travel yet?
I would be glad to hear you guys about this please.. :(

Thanks..

I have a non-accompanying dependent child and he does not have a passport. If you complete the application on your computer and mark "No" for the question if he has a passport it should grey out the area for passport information. My son is 18 and he has a driver's license so I put that information under the national identity document. I am not sure if that was correct, but that is his only ID. I also sent a copy of his driver's license.

If your son is non-accompanying then he wouldn't necessarily need to get a passport at this time just for your application completion.

Your child needs to complete Forms IMM5406-Additional Family Information & IMM5669-Background Declaration.

I hope this helps you!
