Before this twitter session started, I knew he wasn't going to be very helpful.

Yep, absolutely NO answers to increase in inland processing time. All other "answers" were typical non-answers.

Several friends (and I!) asked him why CIC made a promise to expedite Syrian family class applications but are not actually doing so. His reply? "we have resettled 1600 refugees."

We're not asking about refugees...

As someone else mentioned, under the Conservatives and Kenney, process times were actually decreasing somewhat.

That isn't what I saw. In late 2010 the average time in our zone was 16 months and has been continually increasing to what I believe is around 30 months now.

me too. I was the funny one and when he said that about the liberals I was the one who said so we get to blame you for the next 100 years..lol..

He was so useless.

SO many tweets asking about Inland and they were mostly ignored. >:(

I asked how many ppl they have dedicated to processing Inland apps at CPC-M?

What actual steps or changes have been implemented to improve inland processing since the move to CPC-M?

Why inland processing virtually stopped for 7 months after the transfer to CPC-M?

And of course the basic what is going on that they won't tell us to cause such a backlog?? :P

Oh don't forget the staff members pretending to be Joe Public and asking about what colour ice cream he liked. The Spin makes the universe turn and my stomach roll.

Actually the woman who asked about the ice cream was a journalist from the Toronto Star who has been hounding the Minister & CIC for months to get information regarding the number of Filipinos who were granted visas after typhoon Haiyan (when it was promised the visas and PR apps would be expedited). She hasn't gotten any results so far (http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2014/10/12/quest_for_typhoon_data_spins_in_bureaucracys_vortex.html) so took to the Q&A period to ask about it. In her initial tweets she was concerned that her tweets on the bumebox.com site were being filtered, which I think is why she asked the ice cream question.

Sooo.. not really any better. Still someone who is trying and failing to get information from CIC or the Minister.
