I did a 2 yr program in hotel management and presently on PGWP until 2014.

Presently working in a restaurant. The owner has given me a letter stating my duties as supervisor but my wage is minimum.

Will it be a problem if i apply under CEC?

Thanks

It could be a problem because CEC may refuse to believe you are really a supervisor if your pay is very low.

if your NOC is 0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers then check this link:

http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/LMI_report_tool.do?reportOption=wage&titleKeyword=0631&searchJobTitle=Search+by+Job+Title&province=0&area=0

It is safe to assume that if your wage is close to average you shouldn't have to be worried. But if it's too low then it might raise question. Use this as a guideline.

6212 Food Service Supervisors
Food service supervisors, supervise, direct and co-ordinate the activities of workers who prepare, portion and serve food. They are employed by hospitals and other health care establishments and by cafeterias, catering companies and other food service establishments.

So you work in a fine dine restaurant or fast food chain? Read the definition of your NOC carefully before submission. Check with service canada to make sure. The wage not necessarily can lead to a rejection at the same time it can. Depends how low your pay is compared to the prevailing rate. Again compare with this chart below and I'd advise talk to a lawyer to determine your NOC and get clarification regarding your wage.

Hi I have similar concerns as my wage/hr is also very low compared to the average salary. My NOC code is 4121 (job title: Visiting Scholar) which has an average wage of $40/hr and low wage approximately $20/hr. My wage is around $12/hr. I am applying under CEC. I have 1 year 3 months working experience in this job with the PGWP.

Will it be a problem in my CEC application?

are you sure 4121 is your NOC? Have you carefully checked your job duties with this NOC? It is higly unlikely that you will get away with a wage that is below the minimum. From reading this forum I've learned that your wage should be at least average or close to average. If you can show a very good reference letter from employer matching all the job duties then you might get lucky with a wage that's below average. But my friend your wage is $12/hr and if the min rate for your NOC is $20/hr, that sounds like trouble. Again, I'm no expert. Other seniors might give you better insight and if I were you, I'd consult a lawyer.

I agree. I think the low wage is going to be a big problem for your CEC application.

thanks for you advice.

My previous restaurant where i worked for an year there my wage was low. But they have given me letter as Food supervisor with all the duties as per NOC.

Now i have got a new job at a fine dining restaurant and my wage will be above average. He is also ready to give me letter.

Do i need to work again for an year with higher wage to apply under CEC or else can apply before.

Dear vesta what documents did u give and can we include tips too as part of wage?

There is no wage requirement at CEC but if your wage is too far from the average, it might raise questions as others suggested.

u can as well go ahead and apply as vesta but u never know, everything depends on the VO handling ur case. Vesta was lucky but some people on trackitt got refusal for low wage. i am suggesting that befor u apply, u can consult an immigration lawyer or call immigration and verify. i will also suggest u wait for seniors on this forum to suggest for u as well

In my opinion, it is better to first of all get a list of your main duties and responsibilities and then try to find an NOC with matching duties or job titles and not the other way around(i.e. trying to tailor your duties to match the NOC). This reduces the chances of copying the NOC verbatim or exaggerating your duties which can be problematic.
