Minimum Wage Increases Announced in BC, eff 1 May 2011

I knew someone is going to make a remark about my statement.. I have lived and worked in several countries and never I got offered minimum wage. I do not see why Canada is different, I did my homework and visited the place several times. Most people on here have never been to Canada. As to harsh reality, I have been on this earth long enough to know how it works. Pride has nothing to do with it, knowledge, experience, attitude.

The Point here is not to discourage or critique you. Everybody wants to earn more, there is nobody on this earth who will be satisfied with 'minimum wages'. However a certain benchmark helps you assess where you stand on the list. This info. helps you plan your finances once you land in Canada, based on a worse case scenario.

It's not about you, it's about a piece of info. that will be helpful for a lot many people.

I agree with you man. I am of the same view and opinion. I still fail to understand what they do differently in Canada. My first cousin lives in Cornwall near OTTAWA and has the same occupation as mine. He does exactly the same thing I do here in the UK, and he in fact picks my brains to sort out his N/W problems.

I agree with you too. However, the statement "Pride comes before a fall!" does come over as criticism.
