I have heard from some unconfirmed sources that there have been recent changes which now require PR making landing to stay in Canada for a minimum period of 3 months.

Is anyone aware of this recent changes. I might be wrong but need seniors to help.

Anyone who can share an update

No, you aren't required to stay for any minimum amount of time after landing.

No , There is no requirements ... can exit the next day after landing but never mention it to Immigration Officer

There may a mixup in the information that you received with PR and Healthcare requirements.
Some provinces require a minimum residency time before you become eligible. Could this be it?

Dear Seniors

I have also come to hear from couple of new immigrants that now it is necessary to stay in Canada till the PR is not issued, because there have been certain instances where the Immigration Office required the Applicants to personally come and collect the PR Cards?

Is there any change in the law/act which requires the applicant to personally come and collect PR cards?

Best

Your question has already been answered above. No - there has been no change. No - there is no requirement to remain in Canada until the PR card is issued. Sometimes people are asked to pick up their PR cards in person. But this is only for PR card renewals - not new PR cards.

Scylla Thanks alot... yes the query had being addressed earlier nevertheless wanted to have a second opinion. Thanks anyways.

Would appreciate if you guide the pattern for preparing list of goods to carry and list of goods to follow. It would be great if you could email the list incase you have it.
