Applied for Parent’s visitor visa from India. They hold valid US B1/B2 visa, previously held Canada tourist visa and visited Canada.

Applied for well travelled parents for tourist visa. They also have valid US b1/B2 stamps. Application was marked non-routine due to dad being ex-army. He’s 78 years old!
Submitted in January 2024.

My father had TRV before and US visitor visa. Since his old passport expired, I reapplied TRV Canada for him.

Everything completed whereas Security changed to In Progress on 27 Oct 2025
No update since then.

Hi everyone, I have applied for my father Supervisa on August 01 2026. Although, he was under ministry of defence but his role was non- combat and mainly in construction at the border roads. His previous visitor visa was refused in October 2023 stating it was incomplete application as we did not submit IMM 5546( But they never requested for additional documents). In this application i specially covered the previous refusal with as follows:
- Attached IMM 5546 with best of his knowledge
- Explained in detail about his job duties which involved no combat training and no arrest
- Attached his discharge form, pension id and pension slips
Hopefully they do not take long as i already submitted everything upfront.

Did you apply for GCSM notes to check where is your application stuck. I have a another suggestion if the file is stuck with CBSA just write them a letter and explain that your file is been stuck for almost two years.
Yea I asked MP 2-3 times and they checked all the time with same response:file is non routine have to wait. File is in security clearance.
Thinking to apply for GCMS notes. How do I write to CBSA?

It is my suggestion when you get GCMS notes it would say if it is with CSIS or CBSA then check the local address of these agencies and write a letter and post it to their address and hopefully they will read and do something about it. It is my suggestion if every other options are done.
