Hi
I am 26 and i am applying for Canada PR through EE program. During the medical exam , doctor found a murmur and requested echo which showed mild mitral valve regurgitation . On asking the doctor , he says that no further treatment is required for now since murmur in this case is normal and 'echocardio is within limits' . She is also its benign because of the flow of blood and not because of any valve or structure deformity . No medication or surgeries now are needed as my GP says its likely a benign murmur.

My question is will CIC panel of doctors think that this issue will cause a burden on medical expense on the Govt ? Anyone who have been in this situation , please advise .

Thanks !

Doubtful you will find experience with such a specific medical condition.

IRCC uses a 10-year window to assess medical excessive demand. So if they for some reason thought within 10 years of becoming a PR you would be at risk for some expensive medical procedure or surgery, then an excessive demand case could be made against you.

So you should ask the doctor if he foresees any potential problems within the next 10 years. If he says there should be no issues, then you may be perfectly safe. But I would still ask if you can get it in writing... just for worst case it does become an issue and you need to respond to a procedural fairness letter later on.

Thank you canuck78 and Rob_TO , appreciate your responses..

I am not sure if any cardio specialist can do such a speculation, but will still try to get it in writing . Hopefully i can get lucky .

Couple of more questions :

1) Do i need to submit the echo exam results as well to CIC along with the letter from doc ? Or are echo results only required to be submitted to the doctor who conducted my Physical exam for EE and he in turn submits it to CIC ?

2) Is the yearly expenses allowed still in the 6xxx CAD range ?

3) If i have a health insurance in my home country and worst case sceanrio i get a fairness letter request , will that be provided as a valid proof to convince CIC that i will undertake the surgery / treatment back home ? I am looking for some extremely convincing arguments in case i would have to respond

Thank you

Still think you will be fine.
