Please, how can I start the process of migrating to Canada for Postgraduate studies and subsequently for a permanent job? I am a degree holder with Postgraduate Diploma. I am 41 years old father of four children. I have over fifteen years of work experience in a government-paid job in Nigeria. Must I have TEF, TCF, CELPIP, or IELTS score to start the process? Though, I have skilled work experience.

You need to apply to programs that expand on your education and give you career advancement in your home country. The program must justify the costs so you need to show that you will have a high paying job on your return to Nigeria. So research program at public universities and colleges. Get acceptance and apply showing that you have the funds to pay for your studies as well as advancing your education and expanding your career.

You can't immigrate and get PR by just studying in Canada. You need to be eligible so you need to figure out based on your current education, age, skill, and language. Based on your age, you may not be eligible but if you study in Canada, you may be eligible to enter the pool. This doesn't mean being invited. If approved and come to Canada to study that may not be enough for PR. You need to research that before spending years in Canada studying.

I would strongly recommend that you go for a Master's in Canada if your aim is to get PR. You will lose significant points due to your age which will make it more difficult to get PR.

Thanks for your response. Please can you assist with any University that can offer admission for a Postgraduate program/Master's in Electrical/Electronics Technology in Canada?

You'll really need to do this research yourself or alternatively hire an immigration lawyer to help you.

Stay away from all private universities / colleges. Public schools only. Private schools are low ranked / have bad reputations and not all qualify for a PGWP.
