It has come to my attention that I might have provided CIC with a wrong UCI in the IMM1344 form i presented to sponsor my spouse.

There was a number handwritten on top of my IMM1000 (dating from 1990) which was in the xxxx-xxxx format and I assumed this was the UCI.

However, I have recently been told that the UCI system was not being used in 1990.

I have received my stage 1 AOR today with an application number and the SAME UCI I had submitted which I think is wrong.

What will happend in this case?
I am scared CIC will link my file with someone else whose UCI I used??
Or will they realize the mistake and issue a new UCI after stage 1 approval??
Or maybe they will deny the file completely and return it altogether?

Please help me.. I am lost.

Thanks.

I'd say the chances of you using the wrong UCI number, that just happens to be issued to another person with the exact same name as yourself are on all accounts "NIL". Now I don't want to give them too much credit but had it (that UCI) really belonged to someone else, this at least would have been noticed by now. I'm betting your 'recent telling' is not a good source on the matter.

In case the UCI I entered in the form was wrong, do you think CIC would just ignore it and issue me a new one, or is there a chance it would be considered as misrepresentation and they would return the file?

Also, the only place where I found this xxxx-xxxx number is handwritten in the header of my IMM1000 (which I saved from 1990). There is no field in the form where it is written.

Speaking of UCI.. Do we really have 2 different UCI's?

UCI when sponsor got approved
and UCI when received AOR?

Please clarify if this is right, worried that it should be the same and they gave me a different one on the AOR?

UCI stays the same. The one you get with AOR for stage 1 + sponsor approval is the UCI for the sponsor.
The applicant gets an UCI when the PR is issued if it's the first dealing with CIC ( no previous visitor/study visa etc).
In the AOR you have normally a file number ( starting with F) and an UCI (8 digits number).

Thanks Sweden, so that means whenever i access ECAS i will still use the 1st UCI (sponsor approval) when checking status? Thanks

yes - you can use either sponsor's UCI + sponsor info, or file number + applicant's info. both usually works.
I didn't have an UCI before (i'm the applicant) because I never had dealings with CIC before the PR process, so I don't know if your own UCI (applicant) would work if you had one.
