Hi everyone!

Ive been having some health issues over the last two months and it's making me worried about my upcoming move to Canada. We have flights booked for the end of September (They were booked before I got sick) my doctors obviously cant guarantee I will be well before then. So Im wondering how it would work when I arrive in Canada, what happens if I need to go to the hospital before I get my medicare? Do I need to have a privare insurance during that time? Does anyone know how long it takes before the medicare kicks in? (New Brunswick)

Thanks!

You are always in a good spot if you have private insurance, however, if you are already sick, then it may be difficult to obtain.

New Brunswick limits the gap to under 3 months between entering and having coverage. This is a maximum rather than a mandated spacing.

Alright thanks thats good to know :) I already have an insurance here at home which covers 90 days abroad aswell so that one will work and I'll just end it when ever I get coverage.
