Hello, i need some advice.

When we submitted our app, my husband did not do the medicals. Now we received what I am guessing is the second AOR. Is this the time we should be sending the medicals? or they will send us an email requiring the medicals??

I have read somewhere that they request the medicals, and once they do we have 30 days to submit them.

Does this start once they send the AOR2, or when they send an actual email requesting the medicals?

Thank you.

you can get the medicals done at any time. you do not need to wait for them to request it. the time line is specific to when CIC requests the medicals, not from the date of the AOR2. If you get the medical done before it's requested, then you will want to send a copy of the emedical receipt given by the doctor's office to the visa office by case specific enquiry through the cic website so it gets connected to the application properly.

So what is the most wise thing to do now? wait for them to request the medicals or do them and send them? Our country approx length for processing apps is 14months. We thought we can wait a bit to buy some time as to not repeat them as they are really expensive.

What do you advise?

Thanks

don't be concerned about the medicals expiring because CIC can extend them if needed. it's really up to you as to what you want to do. It's fine either way. note, waiting until they are requested can cause processing delays, but again that's not necessarily 100% true in all cases.

i'd recommend double checking the real time processing for your visa office by looking for the thread on this forum specific to that office. you may find the "average" time is much less. the times posted on the website are not averages and don't reflect what applicants face. a majority of applicants are approved in 8-12 months, with some offices approving applicants in much less than that.

That is actually a great advice! I will check it. Hopefully it would be less than that!

And will try to get my husband do the medicals as soon as possible. It is that time of the year where things get hectic and is hard to take a day off to do them.

Thanks again!

I would be concerned about the medicals expiring because that just happened to us. My spouse completed his medicals soon after we sent the application, our average processing time was 11 months, well now it's been 15 months and they have just requested NEW medicals be completed and sent within 30 days.

Did you do the medicals the first time without the CIC requesting them?
