Not sure what to do here. I'm planning to file my immigration paperwork as soon as I get my marriage certicate and new ID's ( january 2014 I hope or before fingers crossed). Now when should I schedule my medicals? I'm going through a doctor in MA. Should I call now to try, I have no idea how far out they are scheduling.
Plus, if I can schedule now, how do I go about this, if I don't have my docs for a name change yet? I really want to get this process started as soon as possible. And using my maiden name will confuse the process as far as sending the papers to the CIC. But I don't think I could schedule in my married name, not sure. Sorry if this all sounds silly. I just want this to go as smoothly as possible.

Timing will depend entirely on the doctor you are going to, and how busy they are. Could be next day... or in months. Only way to know is to call.

Scheduling the appointment beforehand, it doesn't matter what name you use. What matters is on the day you show up to do your medicals (preferably close to the date you actually mail your application), you have all the paperwork with accurate names ready.

Get all the documents and proofs you need first then complete the application forms, last is to have the medical done.

Makes sense, I will call and see how long the wait is. It may not be until January anyway. Won't know for sure until I call. I have the paperwork and I also check CIC often to see if things change in the meantime. I have it all saved in a file, mainly so my fiance and I can discuss it and both be on the same page in advance. I will fill out and print the hard copies when I'm ready. But it is good to prepare.
