Do medicals have to done after ITA?
You should get request for your (and family member's) medical from CIC. In India, medical TAT is around a week, so I'll suggest you not to go for medical before you receive this request.

I'm not sure what you mean by "You should get request for your (and family member's) medical from CIC" ?
Don't you always have to get the medicals done before e-APR? ; according to this - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

As long as you expect to receive ITA soon, you can of course do your medicals at any time before ITA. I did mine a month or so before ITA as well.

If you expect to wait a long time for ITA, i wouldnt advise it, as your medicals are only valid for a year.

Although I'm aware that medical can be done anytime, I was under impression that we get a request from CIC for medical and since medical takes only 4-5 days (from appointment to report received by CIC, given the test center is 'e-Medical' equipped), I was suggesting that wait until you receive a request from CIC.
My bad, if there is no such request comes from CIC.

Thanks Andre_Smol and dan_and for correcting me and helping OP.

I got it done the next to next day after i got my ITA....ensure u have emedical facility in ur canada prescribed physician/hospital.

I got my medical appointment booked the next morning and got it done the next day, just tell them its for canada medicals for PR.

Hi Andre_Smol,
Thanks for helping me with my query regarding work experience.... +1
Sorry folks, I don't have any intention to hijack this thread....

If you're in Canada, you can do them pre-ITA if you are reasonably certain you will get an ITA soon. Medicals older than six months won't be accepted by CIC.

I'll get ITA next draw (PNP nomination), and I did the medicals for my Study Permit last October. My question is, how do I reuse the medicals?
Both applications are on the same CIC profile, so they'll already have access to them and not ask for it?
Or do I need to ask the doctor for something?

Thank you very much!
