Medical timeline for non-accompanying dependant children

My husband has three children in the US who we will include on his application as non-accompanying dependants. He is in Canada for a visit right now, and is going back to the USA from March-May. We have a baby due in June, and will be submitting our PR application this summer after he is born.

My question: should my husband be taking his children to a panel physician in Texas for their medicals while he is there, prior to us submitting our application?

Or, should we apply for PR this summer without having done the medicals, and have him travel back to Texas to get the kid’s medicals completes when we are alerted by immigration its time to provide medicals for him and his 3 kids?

There is no way his ex wife will take their children to get the medicals, but my husband can definitely take them while he is in Texas, or return to Texas to get them completed after they are requested.

What is our best step forward?
