My sister applied for permanent residency a year ago, we are still waiting for a decision, recently they asked for some updates so we are hopeful. She did her medicals a year ago though, would she be required to do another medical before moving to Canada in the summer? please advise.

This is at the discretion of the review officer, we really have no way of knowing for sure if she will need a new set of medicals. Just stay hopeful and watch for a new communication, all the best

Well they asked her to send her passports and wrote a note that she has to enter canada before the expiry of her medical, only her medicals already expired. So we are confused, does she send the passports or try to reach them first!

If she has got the Passport request letter. then her medicals validity has probably been extended by CIC. the quickest way to confirm this is to call CIC call center and ask the medical expiry date.

Well do you have their number? the number she has is all automated messages and none really to talk to. I would be very grateful.

They may waive the right to do new medicals and issue the COPR and PR visas to you all. You will then need to land in Canada before the expiry date of the visa stamped in your passport. All the best.
