Hey,

My husband is sponsoring me for PR and we're going through the London UK office.

I was just checking my status online today and it said medical results received? I was shocked to see anything because I've never been able to login before lol, but when I went to see what it means, I read that medical received means that a decision has been made? Is this correct?

We're super confused about what this means and would love some info. Thanks :)

Hey rebecasss,

welcome to the forum! medicals have been received - means that they made it to the Visa Office and are awaiting your file there. Not much else!

Have you already had the sponsorship approval? I suppose yes, because that's probably why you can log on ecas. If yes, then your file most likely is in London awaiting review - when did you apply, and get the sponsorship approval?
good luck,
Sweden

Thank you so much for replying!

My husband was approved as a sponsor in August and the application arrived in the UK on September 6th, at least, according to ecas.

So this doesn't mean a decision has been made? I looked on that spreadsheet thing they have and it's in the "decision made" category but it just seems very quick!

I tried to post a pic of the spreadsheet but I'm not allowed to post links, sorry!

I've also been reading around the forum and see that ecas isn't so reliable? I've been checking it sporadically (every few weeks since August) but was never able to log in until now. The last time I tried to check it was about a month ago.

Well London VO is working currently on files that arrived end of August / beginning of September, so that seems consistent with your case. The spreadsheet link is in my signature for London VO if you are looking for it ( you can only post links and update your profile once you have posted 10 times).

On ecas normally you have 2 parts. One called "sponsorship application" where you should see "decision made" as your husband has been approved as a sponsor. Then the files get transferred to London. There is a second part, "application for PR" - what do you see there ? If it says "decision made" there, then - congrats!! you're done... and it's most likely a positive answer ( unless there is something obviously wrong with your application, but I don't imagine it's the case), if you haven't been asked for extra documents etc.

If it only says "application received" or "in process", then they are working on your file, and your medicals have been matched with it. Most likely you'll hear from them soon.

It's not reliable in the sense that it doesn't always update even if something is happening... so you could have "application received" and then "decision made" without going "in process" at all - and sometimes some people have received the COPR in the mail without ecas changing... so if nothing happens on ecas, it doesn't mean that nothing is happening in your file. But if ecas says that your medicals have been received, or "in process" or "decision made" then you can trust that it's true.
Hope it clarifies!

We were notified via email that my husband had been approved for sponsorship.

When I log into ecas I don't see the first part saying that my husband's bit is completed - it doesn't show anything about that at all.

When I first log in it says "application received" which is a link, when I click on it it says application received 6th Sept, medical results received. I would have thought nothing of it were it not for that terribly confusing spreadsheet that says medical received status means a decision has been made.

We were asked for a missing signature before my husband got approved (d'oh!) and had the application sent back to us to be completed, but have had no issues since. All of the documents were up to date and everything, and there was plenty of time left on both my medical and police check.

Yeah, I've been reading a few ecas stories, but seeing something on there is a big improvement on seeing nothing! :)

I had a look at the spreadsheet, am seeing some very short processing times and a lot of red lines which is super comforting.

Thank you so much for all your help. We've been driving ourselves a bit mad this morning.

you're probably seeing only one side of ecas because of the logging you are using.
You can use either the UCI + sponsor data ( DOB, name etc) or the file number (starting with F) + applicant. the information is the same, but depending on which login you use, you will see either both side, or only one.

But the most important part is now that you have access to ecas, and you can see the "Application PR side" because that's the one that matters - the sponsorship part is done and doesn't change anyway.

For now, the "application received" is the part that matters to you! :-) mine stayed like this for quite a while, and one day, it changed to "decision made" - end of the process! didn't go to "in process" at all. what you are seeing now ( with application received + the line about "medicals have been received") is the "normal" status, it just indicates that your file is in London and medicals as well.

If you want to add yourself on the spreadsheet, feel free to do so - just create a line that fits in order of sponsorship approval, and enter the information. If you are not too comfortable doing it, let me know and I'll add you - just let me know what day you received the sponsorship approval.

There is also a thread for applicants going through London Vo if you want to join! it's here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-outland-london-uk-applications-t49436.7080.html

Good luck for the final leg of the process, it should be over soon!

It didn't change at all? That's so funny! I guess I won't get into the habit of religiously checking it then :p

So we're at "application received" which is totally awesome. At least things are moving in the right direction.

I'll definitely add myself to the spreadsheet, though I'm not sure what columns B+C are?

I'm going through the UK thread now, lots of stuff to read!

I can't thank you enough for your help, you've definitely eased my nerves. It's really good to have a better idea of where we stand.

Actually, I must have gotten confused. We sent our application in August, they received it in September, then sent it back to us because we missed a signature.

My husband was actually approved on December 14th (I just checked the email) and we're live on ECAS (with medicals received) some time within the past week.

Ecas shows application received September 6th, but that must have been when Mississauga got it the first time, not when London got it (which I'm assuming they did given that I'm on ecas)

If you could add me to the spreadsheet (I'm not sure where I fit lol) that would be super awesome.

I've added you to the spreadsheet, you're in row 112. Column B is when you did the medicals and C is when your application was received in Mississauga - I added the title again as somebody had erased them.
Your sponsorship approval took longer than most people in the spreadsheet that applied at that time because of the missing signature, so I added an explanation in the last cell. You're in grey because you're a september applicant, but you're in middle of other months because applicants on the UK spreadsheet are in order of sponsorship approval, as London seems to follow that order ( more or less of course). So it's safe to say - when others above you start turning red, you probably should hear soon... my advice would be to "NOT" check ecas for a while, as most likely nothing will change ( now that you have the "medicals have been received" line) for a good 2 or 3 months... so no point in getting obsessed about it - you'll have plenty of time for that once it gets closer to "your turn"...

As for date - 6th of September is what it says on ecas, so that's the day it got to Mississauga, and it will stay like this - you won't find an update when it got to London unless they contact you for some reason ( missing document etc) - London usually doesn't send AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) so most people don't have a date in that column on the spreadsheet.

Ecas usually starts working about 5 to 10 days after the sponsorship approval, so it seems coherent with your approval date.

Welcome to London VO and the waiting game! the thread is a good way to share frustrations and questions, it's a lot to read - it will keep you busy for a while! :-) better than checking ecas, it's more informative!

Good luck, and don't hesitate to ask if you have questions,

Sweden

That's great, thank you! I put my medical in - 22nd August.

Can't wait to see people turning red, but will definitely lay of the ecas for a while or I'll drive myself mad.

Thanks again, Sweden. Just read that you landed super recently so congratulations! :)

Thanks! :-) indeed, a little over a month ago, it's nice to be "legal" in Canada ( arrived on a tourist visa mid october and was getting impatient!).

What an awesome early Christmas gift!

Extending my visa for the 2nd time this week (I've been here as a visitor for 2.5 years!) and I can totally understand the impatience lol
