Hello How Are You

I am well, thanks for asking! How are you?

No, you don't automatically get OHIP. You must locate an employer and secure a letter from them that states your employment start date, and that they intend to employ you for at least 6months, and the type of work you do for them. It must be on company letter head. OHIP will be available 90 days from the day your employment starts.

you are a foreign worker who holds a valid work permit or other document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) permitting you to work in Canada, and you also have a formal agreement in place to work full-time for an employer situated in Ontario which sets out the employer's name, your occupation, and confirmation that you will be working for no less than six consecutive months;

If you don't have this, then need to wait for AIP (Approval in Principle) for inland PR app:

you have submitted an application for permanent residence in Canada, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada has confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada

I believe OP has applied via a lawyer for an OWP.

Ah, then this post doesn't belong in the family sponsorship section!

inland PR + OWP. He was asking about the OWP several days ago. Now the follow-up is OHIP access and the OWP... hence the response I gave..

OK so my initial response stands. If he doesn't get work that would qualify him for OHIP via OWP, then he would need to instead wait for AIP.

Thanks guys.

Yes I asked recently how long it takes to get OWP.

Hopefully I will get the work permit soon and a permanent job after that.
Thanks
