Hello,

I have a simple question to ask, if I see a specialist today about abdominal pain I have, will this affect my medical report for approving my visa?
I don't have any illness or sickness I think I may be gluten intolerant and want to be tested but don't want to see a specialist if this will effect my medical report that is sent to the Canadian embassy

Reply: Medical issues please help

Hello B1007, this should not have any impact on your medical report and all abdominal pain needs to be checked out. Especially if you have accompanying fever or other symptoms. Are you a sponsored spouse? When is the date for your medical?

Hi ya thanks for your reply, my medical is on 8th may 2013
I saw a specialist on Wednesday 1st may who wants to refer me to have a check up at the hospital so they can check to see what is causing the bother, most likely to be a certain type if food that doesn't agree with me, nothing to serious, contagious or life threatening

it won't impact on your medicals if you're allergic to something...
Spouses are "excessive medical exempt" which means that CIC can not deny you because of a medical condition. If you have a contagious disease, they will ask that you get treatment, and tested again, but they won't deny you for that.
Good luck,
Sweden

that is a relief for me. I have a shunt that required surgery as a child, but is managed now. And i am on seizure meds. Both are managed well by meds and in the case of the shunt, takes care of itself. Neither are contagious and I hold a job and a college degree. But I worried what exactly was deemed ' medically inadmissible '.
