Medical Inadmissibility

Hello House,

A family member has been found to be HIV+ after the medical results came out.

I am the principal applicant and I was found to be negative. I chose Ontario as the Province of choice.

Because British Columbia(BC) provide 100% or free coverage for HIV medications, I would want to change my province from Ontario to BC.

The application is still in process and it has not been approved yet.

Is this allowed?

What would the implication(s) be.

Please help.

I believe if any of the person from the family is found inadmissive for any reason (Medical or security) the entire family is found inadmissble.

Your main worry shouldn't be changing provinces to get free medication - it should be the fact that there's a very good chance CIC will want to refuse your entire family's application due to your dependent's HIV status. You should be expecting to receive a letter from CIC where they indicate they are going to deny your application. You will then be given a short time to respond to prove why your dependent's condition will not create a financial burden on Canada's immigration and social services systems. The province is irrelevant.
