Has anybody been refused a PR on the basis of their parents medical? I am from Scotland and didn't do a medical for either my study visa or PGWP. I am just wondering because my Dad has Dementia. Could this go against my application for inadmissibility?

I'm confused. I didn't think so either, but on this link for the Newfoundland PNP (http://www.nlpnp.ca/student.html), it says 'You are not eligible for the International Graduate category if you:
  • any of your dependent family members (whether or not they are accompanying you) have a serious medical condition
I am going to contact them just to make sure, as it doesn't sound right that an older parents medical condition would affect anything.

"...any of your DEPENDENT family member (..." See if they are explicitly defining the word "dependent", but normally that refers to your wife and children (unless I guess he could be a dependent of you if you are his legal tutor so something on those lines.

By definition, Dependents only constitute your spouse and dependent children.
