Hi to all
I submitted my pnp non EE application in March 2024. I received AOR and done medical in August 2024. In January 2025 received PAL. After that my application is stuck in background check. My pgwp will expire next month. I want to apply for BOWP. My question is,
Do I need a upfront medical for BOWP or my previous medical (done 15 months before) is suffient. In last 15 months i never travelled outside canada. I am working as an Early Childhood Educator.
Thanks and best regards

You do not need to do an upfront medical for a BOWP in your situation. IRCC only asks for a new medical if your last one is over 5 years old or if you have travelled to a high-risk country, which you haven’t. Since your medical was completed 15 months ago, you have remained inside Canada the whole time, and you already passed medicals for your PR application, your existing medical is normally considered sufficient for a Bridging Open Work Permit. When you submit your BOWP application, just attach your previous medical proof (IME or eMedical sheet) if available. IRCC will let you know if they need anything further, but in most cases for inland applicants with a recent medical, no new exam is required.
