Medical Examination, Living in Canada for less than 6 months??

Hi everyone,

I am 21 year old Australian born citizen living in Australia and am currently in the pools for a Working Visa. However, I have been asked to provide a medical examination but i am not so sure why. I have a number of friends that are also traveling with me who are in the same situation but they have their visa's approved without a medical certificate. Along with this, i don't match with any of the criteria's that are listed on the website. For example, i am not staying in the country for longer than 6 months nor am i looking to work in the industries listed. I have also been in contact with the Sydney immigration office but they were no help what so ever. So if anyone would have an answer or way that i don't have to spend an extra $600 that would be great!

You are right, you should not require a medical exam for IEC Working Holiday visa if you've only lived in Australia.

However as IRCC has asked for it, there may be some reason or perhaps an error in your file that's telling them you require one. You need to sort this out with them.

You can try submitting an inquiry using the IRCC webform ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp ). Or there should be a "contact us" link someone on your IEC profile page.
