Hello,

I'm trying to schedule a Medical Exam so I can submit my Permanent Residence Application, but the few doctors I've called, they all require some sort of ID number related to the Immigration process; what number are they referring to? Where can I find this?

Thanks for the help! :)

You should ask for an Upfront Medical Exam when you call the doctor's office.

Just tell them you are express entry applicant. They only require your passport. Go with worker non ede type medical. Good luck.

What is the difference between an Upfront Medical Exam and an EDE Type Medical?

These are different things. You will perform an Upfront Medical Exam (which does not require the previous ID number) and the exams will be type Worker Non-EDE (the doctor shall ask you about that)

Upfront means you get your medical done before cic send you a request to do so. This was usually in older fsw program where the medicals were the last step of the pr process, but with the EE system they want the applicants to get it done before hand so that they can get away with all the efforts to assess your file in case their is a medical problem with the applicant.

You will need worker non ede type, this usually involves more test. Ede is excessive demand exempt.
