Soooooon!!!!! ☺️
Just wondering what medical conditions they test for? I'm afraid of doctors so I want to head to doctor first to get tested for whatever they test you for to make sure I will pass!
Thank you :)

This is the most comprehensive guide I've found on medical: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-examinationmade-easy-t133692.0.html

Good luck!

I was the same! I have "white coat syndrome" and was really nervous about going for my med. I had visions of my heart rate and blood pressure being sky-high. I needn't have worried, it was fine.
Honestly, please try not to stress out over it. We were there for a little bit over an hour and there were 4 of us.
Good luck! :)

Ahha I know it's the worst! I literally have been putting off residency because I'd rather not do the medical haha!!!! I'm an idiot!
I had a blood test last month and everything fine but I just want to know what they actually test for! Why can't you find it anywhere? Seems weird to me!

Thanks for the link above, have checked it out :)

I was so nervous and the drive to the Clinic took an hour. By the time I got there my mouth was dry and my hands were all sweaty haha! I was just glad to get it over with to be honest so once I checked in I felt better. A week before the meds I was careful about my sugar and fat intake. Once we left the clinic we treated ourselves to breakfast at McDonalds. Food never tasted so good! ;)

I think the blood test is for HIV as well as sexually transmitted diseases. Anything that poses a threat to Canadian public health.

We were told that if any health issues showed up on any of the tests we'd be notified for our own welfare.

So I was on edge for a couple of days following the meds and was dreading to hear off them but we didn't so I'm hoping it went well.

I don't think there's a medical "pass" required for family class sponsorship?

I'm not an expert but that's what I read on here somewhere! ;D

Right, it is important to note that spousal/child sponsorship is "excessive demand exempt". What they are looking for is communicable diseases.

Thanks for that link, just what I was looking for! Went doctor and they did all tests but Chest X-ray as he cant order one for no reason because I have no symptoms! Will just have to hope for the best on that one :)

The chest x-ray is required, so you MUST have it done. I suggest you return to the Panel Physician immediately and have it done. If they still refuse, inform them that you will be filing a complaint with CIC and they risk losing their Panel Physician designation.

I think Mhunter might have been referring to an exam before the actual medical for the application, which might be why they didn't have an xray at this appointment. I think he/she had a pre- med exam to make sure all was good for the actual exam with a PP.

Yep you are correct! ^
