I have scheduled a medical exam next week for myself and my wife anticipating I would get an ITA this week however; I just read that now, we cannot have medical exams upfront..

CIC mentions that now, we need to wait for intimation from CIC to have medicals even after getting ITA.. Is it true?? Am I missing something here?? Should I keep that appointment or cancel it??

Please help.. Thanks!!!

Express Entry requires you to have medicals upfront.

Upfront medicals are now not needed for SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP only.

Does that mean both me and my wife can go for an upfront medical exam as scheduled next week??

If I am understanding it correctly then the upfront medical is not permitted when a Canada PR holder/ citizen is sponsoring the spouse.. Am I correct??

I hope I got it right.. Please confirm.. Thanks!!!

Yes. EE applicants have to get an upfront medical.

Upfront medicals are not permitted when PR/citizens are sponsoring spouse's

getting upfront medicals a MUST ?
or is it ok to get medicals done after getting the ITA ?

Reason for this question: I am expecting ITA this Wednesday.

Specifically tell your clinic that you are an EE candidate and they will allow you to do upfront medical.

when u do ur e-APR u need to attach medical report/doc. So it has to be upfront. meaning pre or post ITA medical is upfront medical. Thats what I understand when I did mine. Thats my understanding.

Upfront is when you do the medical on your own. There are cases where CIC sends a medical request and you do it only if requested.

Upfront medicals before you submit your eApr. Either before ita or after.
