Medical exam in Canada for outland App. (Not U.S.)

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding medical exams.

My common-law partner and I are applying OUTLAND from WITHIN Canada. She is Peruvian, I am Canadian. We are considering having the medical exam done in Canada rather than in Peru. I have seen several posts on this topic, but all of them seem to be applicants whose visas are being processed via the Buffalo office. Ours will be processed in Lima.

Does anyone have any experience using Canadian medical exams for an outland application which is NOT being processed in the U.S.?

Any information on this subject would be of great help.

it should be fine, as long as she is in Canada legally, at the moment (as a visitor or with a work permit, or whatever).

All the medical results from all the countries get sent to the same office in Ottawa (I believe) until they are requested by the visa office, so whether her exam is from her home country or Canada, shouldn't be any different.

some countries may have different requirements in the medical exam, however, so be sure to follow the instructions in the country specific guide for the medical exam.

Not true - only medical results for applications processed through visa offices in North America go to the Regional Medical Centre in Ottawa. There are several other Regional Medical Centres - if you can identify the one that would serve the embassy in Lima, you can request that the DMP in Canada sends the results to that RMC. I would ask about it before going to the exam, and be prepared to offer to pay the postage/delivery charges. I'd also take a copy of this list as they may not know the address info for any other office except Ottawa.

This is where your medical needs to be sent by your doctor....you need to make sure the doctor you use here is an immigration approved doctor first off.And Peru uses....................................................

I just had the ME done, here in Toronto - applying OULTAND thru London.

Painless experience - although the clerks did say that I only needed 4 photos, and gave one back. I'm a little concerned about that, but I'll include an extra one in our PR application proper, and mark it for the ME.

I had my medical done in Canada, and am applying via the outland route (Sydney Australia office). The medical centre sent the results to Ottawa and gave me a customer copy to include with my application.

Can't comment further than that, as far as I know CIC Missisauga have not started processing our application.

I did mine in Canada using the inland Medical Form which then got sent to Ottawa because I wasn't sure if I was going to do Inland or Outland.

I took the slip/form from the DMP with my picture and included it with my Outland package and explained to CPC-M that the meds were done in Canada. They were nice enough to transfer my results to my VO at Port of Spain.

It really isn't a biggie one you explain it to them in your package so they know where things are leading.

You can also use the outland slip and the DMP can forward the results to the designated office for processing. You can ask the DMP's office before making the appointment.

Thanks for sharing your advice and experiences. I really do appreciate all of the information. Doesn't sound too complicated really... hopefully those aren't my famous last words.

If anyone else has anything to add to the discussion, I would love to hear more regarding outland medical exams being done in Canada.
