I have seen this answered a few times before, but I've read conflicting information, hopefully someone can clarify.

I am only sponsoring my spouse to come to Canada, no dependants. Do her parents need to provide medical exams now if there are no plans of them coming to Canada in the future?

What needs to be done in order for them to be eligible to be sponsored in the future, let's say, 15 years from now after my spouse becomes a citizen?

Thanks!

Only your spouse needs to complete the medical. Even if there is a plan to sponsor your spouse's parents later, they still don't need to complete a medical now since they are not classified as dependents for immigration purposes. This will in no way prevent future sponsorship.
