Situation: I am sponsoring my wife from Sweden. Going to apply Outland.

For medical check up, does she just take the form from the immigration application print out and bring it to a valid doctor location listed in Sweden? Or do we send in our immigration application and wait for immigration to send us forms and an ID number (from what I've heard from a friend)? How long is this medical results and police record valid for?

For evidence such and birthday, x-mas, valentine day cards, etc... is there anyway we can get them back? I would like to keep them.

First off, if you are applying Outland, please make sure you have the correct application pack and the document check forms which will show you exactly what you need to send. Use it, its a really good tool to make sure you have everything sent in that you need to, including photocopies of your passports.

Also, in the application pack it will say that yes, you need to get your medical done and sent in with your application, when your wife sees the doctor they will hand her back a copy of a form and you must attach that with your application. I believe that if you don't send in the medical with it, the whole application may be sent back to you as incomplete.

I also didn't want to send in original cards as evidence and so I scanned them all in so they could be read and put exactly when and what for they were sent. I believe you are supposed to get these back, but from what some other people have said, they never did.

Also, the medical is valid for 12 months and I believe that the police record check needs to be under 3 months old when the application is sent.

Hope the above, helps, but you need to have a really good read through the application pack first including the document check list and then come back with any other questions.

You don't get your file back so send copies unless they specifically ask for the original, eg police checks

Ok Thanks... Can anyone confirm on the Police record that it has to be within 3 months? I have that already and it might pass that 3 months mark.
