Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,
I am outside Canada with a pregnant wife in her 3rd trimester.
Will pick-up Visa in a week. Intend to land in Alberta. Will my wife
receive health coverage for delivery after we land?

Thanks
Peece

In Alberta I believe you are covered from Day 1

Yes, in AB you are covered from day 1 when you move from a different country. Go to AB health as soon as you can, they may want you to prove that you live there but if you can get the phone company, other utility company or bank to send you a statement right away to an AB address, that is your proof.

Thanks for the response.
Another Question?
What is the link to AB Health? Also, will the health coverage cater for C-section delivery? We've had our two babbies with C-section and the 3rd one will also be by c-section. Any info would be helpful.

Yes EVERYTHING,Alberta is a very wealthy province,So even Intensive care will be covered. My Friends Wife had complications in her birth,But Care Card covered almost 70,000$ in expenses. After all isnt this the reason you selected Canada

The AB health website is here: http://www.health.alberta.ca/ahcip/ahcip_eligibility.html
