Hi,

I'm wondering if high BMI (above 40) of accompanying dependent( partner) is problem for immigrating.
Actually my(applicant) BMI is 25 as recommended but wife's BMI is 41. She is fairly active but still her BMI is quite high. I noticed that CIC take into account BMI during medicals. I'm expecting medicals in coming months.

Does anyone knows that it will trigger medical rejection?

Thanks,

No

Canada is more concern of transmittable diseases or serious and long term health concern than that.

A high BMI in and of itself will not cause a refusal. However, if she has any medical conditions associated with morbid obesity such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease etc., that could lead to a refusal.

Did this become an issue for you or was their smooth sailing?
