The Dr was very nice, however. He seemed to think the file went to Ottawa first - even though I repeated Misssasagua over and over.
In the end, he said it really only needed to get to Buffalo (which is true)

Anyone have experience with that?

Hi There,

Glad to hear the medical went ok.

Yes, the DMP sends everything to Ottawa. The sponsorship application goes to Mississauga and then (in your case) to Buffalo. Buffalo will request the medical results from Ottawa, during their review process.

Our DMP did the same thing. I also reconfirmed the process by calling the CIC 1-800 # at the time and they confirmed that yes that is the process.

I double checked because I was worried how they would link the medical records with the application, since the medical was likely to arrive in Ottawa before our application got to Mississauga, or Buffalo and at that point there were no File #'s. The response I got on that one was something to the effect of "it's our process and our job to know how it works". LOL ;D

Wonderful, I kept thinking he had to know what he was doing but it just didn't make sense.
Thank you - one more thing checked off. Now I need to get my paperwork going, because he said in 3 days he'll be mailing it off and I was like - err (like you) - I might not even have my application in by then.

Doesn't really matter that much how quickly you mail off your application -- the medical is good for a year. The DMP will send your results to the Regional Medical Centre in Ottawa where it will be kept until it's requested by the visa office. So you always need to do your medical first and it's just kept with the RMC until needed. In our case, my husband did his medical in June but we didn't submit our application until September because we were living together overseas -- we didn't have any problem.

Yeah he said the same thing - though we intended on filing by Monday.
