I'm applying for my PR outside Canada.

I got an email with Medical Examination Instructions(IMM1017) from my visa office. But I still have a few months until it expires. I contacted my visa office about it but I haven't received a response yet.

Has anyone had this kind of experience? I'm still waiting for a reply but would it be better just to do a medical check again? Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Maybe they can't find the medical that you already did. They now have the option to extend your medical validity for a year if they are close to granting PR status.

Thanks for your reply BeShoo! I was wondering about that actually.

When I contacted my visa office by email I attached a copy of my medical check result that I got when I did last May as well.

I had applied for visitor visa under my maiden name before. My PR application and medical check are under my married name. When I called CIC call crntre they said since UCI is always the same, they might have been confused about it so I mentioned that too.

So you think my application is not near the end? ...Well, it might be better to do a medical check again soon so the process it isn't delayed any further.

I think you should do as they say, must be a reason why they didnt going to specifics. This could be the only thing keeping u from getting your pr.

Actually, I think your application is near the end. The thing is that I can't see them asking for a new medical when the one you did will still be valid for four more months. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm guessing that they somehow didn't get your medical results matched up with your application. It seems expensive to me to do a new medical for no reason.

What you need to do is contact the panel physician that performed the medicals which are still valid. Show the doctor that IMM 1017 form you received and ask him/her to re-report the same results, this time using the file number of your PR application (provide it to them). Once this is done (get confirmation from the doctor), then inform the visa officer using the case specific inquiry form. The officer should be able to find your medicals after this.
I also had valid medicals from a work permit application. When CIC requested medicals, my panel physician did what I have described above and I got my passport request 1 week after.

thanks for your reply BeShoo and SenoritaBella!!!!!

i just went to the clinic that i did my medical check at last year to ask about my result. i brought a copy of the result that i got when i did it with me. the lady there said thats a copy of my result from online so that proved they sent it to cic.

the copy of result says Health case details/e medical on the top. it has a barcode with a number "UMI Uxxxxxxxxx". i believe they sent it to cic. but my ecas status is still only application received on June 2013. its been 10 months since i took the medical check. how long does it usually take to update the medical check on ecas?

im gonna call cic call centre again. they might say we cant access your file here because you applied outside canada. hope they can tell us something about it... wish me luck!!
