Hi,
So we sent of the application in November and I am about to take the medical.
I've read so many different answers here about "having" to send it with the application or send it after the application has been sent OR even just to wait until they ask for it.

1. Should I do the medical now or wait until they ask me to take it?

2. The medical is valid for 1 year.
Will it be invalid even though my spouse is approved after, let's guess 1 month and I am approved for PR after 11-12 months and would I be asked to take a new one?

It is quite pricey, medical 250$, x-ray and lab test approx. 200$ and then to have to do it again because THEY are slow?!

3. Will I get the results or are those JUST for immigration and no way to get my hands on those?

Thanks for your help

Same question here from India. Help us out senior members.

What is the better option?
Do I apply first and wait for Immigration to instruct me?
Or does doing the medicals first and sending it in with the application helps speed up the process.

Thanks

From my experience:
- if you're doing an outland process, do the meds up-front. It's very likely that they will extend their validity.
- if you're doing an inland process, wait to be asked to do the medicals. The process is much longer and they will definitely not be able to extend them (they can only do that if they process your entire application within 15 months after the meds were taken and the only thing preventing them from issuing the visa is the expiry of the meds)

Thanks so much, will cancel my medical for now.
PS: Just re-read on the CIC homepage that THEY will ask you to do a medical when you do it inland. So the info is there :).
