they may have a lot of applications so they will start processing them after returning the incomplete ones. they may wrote received just to inform you that you application is complete but need some time to be in process.

Do you have any suggestion why there is only a received line?

Edited post to correct date from May 11th to July 11th.

I call today and was told they are working on applications received May 2nd. But then I mentioned people whose apps were received May 9th have their ecas active and in process. The guy checked mine and confirmed my app was opened last Friday, July 11th. So my ecas should be active sometime this week or next.

My ecas changed within the last few days (I noticed it today). I guess the ecas update is not limited to Tues. only.

1- We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 5, 2014.

2- We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on May 5, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3- We started processing your application on July 9, 2014.

Of course, I never received any ACK letters.

Thanks. Based on what I read here and there, they update has most probably happened on Sunday. So there is a good chance that your file is also open but you will probably see it on Tues./Weds.

I wonder how they distinguish between envelopes sent to CIC for immigration and those to CPC for citizenship, besides the "GRant Adult" words on the address line... Anyways, let's hope they open the envelopes at even a faster rate...

I just now called CIC and the agent told me that they are currently processing (opening) applications received till May 2nd. Since my application reached on May 5th, he said it will be most likely next week I see some status update. I mentioned some of May applicants with later dates see their status already online, but there is no answer for that question.

ECAS is not showing anything for me. Hopefully this week or next week.
