Vancouver office, no it's not a coincidence as I had mentioned the same to my interviewer and my PR is expiring so told them I did not wanted to renew it again.
My interview was done before the test itself and she had approved everything and said once you do the test we can get you to oath in 6-8 weeks.
Ok, that’s very good to know. My application is being processed by the Surrey office. Is everybody being called for an interview now? People have been mentioning interviews a lot lately, while before it seemed to be more seldom.

Interviews are not common but when they have to clear something, I had 8 months out of the country in one time they needed to confirm that.

But I feel good that it happend

Yes you need passport as citizenship certificate is not considered travel document.

I think you and I have the ceremony on same date
Oath on November 19th and intended flight on December 10th...do you think I can still make that travel work? Is there any way to expedite the certificate?

Yup totally possible you can ask the clerk in the ceremony to expedite your certificate so you can get it max within a week many people have done that and got in 2-3 days.

And then express pickup passport service can get you your passport in less than 5 days. So you should be good to go

This is regarding the application for sponsorship to citizenship of my parents.

Location: Toronto-GTA (Milton)| App Type: Family| Presence Days: 1100+ | App Sent: 1-May-2020 | App Delivered: 4-May-2020 | AOR: 09-Sep-2020 | ECAS in Progress: 9-Dec-2020 | Test Letter: Not Applicable (Senior Citizens) | Test/Interview Date: Not Applicable (Senior Citizens) | ECAS Decision Made: 26-07-2021 (while language skills shows In-Progress to this day) | Oath Letter Date: Still Awaiting | Oath Date: Still Awaiting (Language Skill still shows in progress while they are senior citizens and this is not applicable)

There is an update dated 01-11-2021 and there is no update on the file really (file was just opened and closed). THIS IS JUST CRAZY !
File is updated on Nov 1st as In-Progress while it has been in In-Progress status for a long time - so what is the update i need to infer here ?

I have asked for GCMS notes by mid Apr and got a reply that this is being addressed by mid Aug. I have followed up again now/today.
I paid $5 for each of my parents and and requested.

I had reached through the MP's who said the file is waiting on a oath date (this was July-Aug 2021) and should be addressed in the next few months for ure.

I am wondering if there is any light at the end of this tunnel after 18 months and parents are desperate to go back to home country for a few months (As they have lost their siblings and family in the last 4.5+ yrs they have been here as PR, since 8 Apr 2017). I am holding as travel may be difficult to come back in COVID times if there is a oath date and dont want to push the date if we get one either.

Just looking at the 2020 tracker...maybe I have an out of date version but my information doesn't appear to be current anymore:
Oath letter date: November 3, 2021
Oath Ceremony: November 16, 2021
Thanks!

Oath done yesterday. Was done in an hour and 30 minutes.
Do they ask you to tear off PR card?? I have oath invite for November 18 but I have my travel booking to India on November 24th. So just say if I attend oath and get the citizenship certificate but apply for passport only after coming back from India, Is this possible?

I am in the waiting game having done my test and passed at the end of October. I was just looking at the spreadsheet so try to figure out the average wait between test and oath. Seems for us unfortunate May 2020 applicants Test to DM is on average 60 days and DM to oath is on average 58 days. So realistically its March 2022 that I am looking at as a potential oath date....... that's six months from test to oath - am I right or ......... ?!!!
