You have to provide enough documents proving your relationship. Marriage certificate is the strongest document but if you don't have that you have to prove using other documents.

I have a question that I hope you can answer.
if somebody is going to have a verbal proxy marriage that was not documented and he does not have a marriage certificate for this as it is not legal official marriage, does he have to report this to cic? Thank you so much in advanced for your help.

There may be someone left from New Delhi VO, I'm not certain. I saw some people on this forum received PR at end of Feb
and early March.

Thank you so much for your reply. If I am still in a PR process, do I have to disclose this relation or I can wait till I get my PR and then get legally Married.

If it's not a legal marriage, then you are not married which is what you show on the forms.
A proxy marriage is not recognized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as valid for immigration purposes.

If the only form of marriage you've completed is a proxy marriage, then you are NOT married for Canadian Immigration purposes.

So Abu dhabi had contacted us to send my husband police certificate , and we had submitted them, does that mean our waiting period has got shorter or longer ? Hang in there everyone else

Hello people,
Application was received on May 10, 2017.
Medical is completed and passed as well.
I received an email on October 13 that my application is been transferred to visa office in Beirut for further processing.

Any idea how long it takes until my wife gets the visa?
