Thanks Rojiyo, I hope we both get news back this week !
I'm in Ontario, so I don't know what the time frame for
my province to send back the information.

From what I understand now , from the agent I spoke with
the inquiry was made on July 24th.

i do a very similar type of job to the CIC agents on the phone, one where callers are given a rough timeline of when to check back for updates on their case. there is a particular time of day when callers will be more likely to get an update. it baffles me that i am the only person in the entire office who tells people when that is. it takes me less than 10 seconds to explain it to the callers. there is no benefit to my co-workers to NOT give that information, and giving it saves the hassle of dealing with cranky people who are trying to get an update at a time when no updates are available. i'm with you - i don't understand why some make it so difficult, either. ???
I really did feel that when I was speaking the agents on Friday afternoon that they were just couldn't be bothered..
possibly because its been a long week for them, possibly because it was a long day and the site updated later in the afternoon
making it a rush of calls with people who have been waiting for that ticker to move over so they could call.. whatever it was ..
The information was much easier to get on Monday morning at 8 am. For what ever reason, I am really just grateful this agent
was helpful.
As well, I will not be calling them all the time, clogging up their lines trying to decipher what could be going on because I now know, so
I can see no benefit to the agents to not just give up the information they have when we call the first time, if its available. One less
person bothering them for a while here. ;D

Hello Folks,
I am the Sponsorer and my wife is the Principal applicant from India. Currently she is in India and I am in Canada, does this makes our case Outland applicant or Inland applicant.

Silly question but my Consultant says it is Inland applicant, wanted to ensure before applying.

Best regards,

If your wife is not going to be in Canada at the time of the application and stay in Canada for the duration of the application then
you will have to apply Outland.

Inland is for people who are living in Canada already.

If your wife is in India and you are the Sponsor (canadian) I'm pretty sure you should apply Outland.

Reason number 1,578,000 not to hire a lawyer. As other said, if she is living in India, then it's Outland. The folks on this forum are just as, and in this case, more knowledgeable and will and will answer your questions for free.

Today I accessed to our Ecase to see if there was any news about our SA (unfortunately not yet), however we had an update in our application regarding to the Medical Exam that says "Medical results have been received".

We don't even have our SA or DM yet, I thought that the updates in regard to the medical exam are made after the file have been transferred to the corresponding visa office (for us Paris, we think so). So, I wonder if anyone know if this is normal or mean something.

Probably I'm just thinking too much, but this is the first update that we have after we received the AOR a month before. Thanks.

I had the "Medical results have been received" showing when I had AOR. They must be working in your file, so SA decision must be getting close, and they noticed the medical update hadn't been entered for e-CAS so they added it and you saw it.

Hi guys.
My wife is Canadian and she has got her SA. Right now we are waiting for an AOR2 fro Warsaw visa office.
We are thinking about visiting her family in Canada in October and I am wondering if it is a good idea? So we have 2 questions:
1. Can I travel to Canada while waiting for my visa or is it going to confuse the officers and give me problems with my applications?
2. Is it possible that the Warsaw visa office will ask me to send my passport within 2 month from the AOR2? Because if they do, I will have to send it and I won't be able to travel. Is that correct?
Please help and thank you!

1. Yes - You can and will not be a problem at all.
2. Yes - It's possible, altough, not every VO send AoR2. Some just send it when you ask.

hello:
I have received an email asking for my son's medical. I stated on the form that he is not traveling with me or he will be moving with me. Anyone had the same experience? I already scheduled the medical just in case..

for other members how long it take after this stage to get the request for passport?

Every dependant, accompanying or not, have to perfom a medical test.
Just in case you want to sponsor s/he in the future.
And Ottawa is taking 8-10 months to finish the whole process.

RChettiar,

You can select whether or not you want the application to be inland or outland.

Outland means that your wife would remain in India while your application is processed, and her timeline for getting PR will be MUCH shorter than inland. She's welcome to visit you in Canada while her application is being processed as long as she is granted a visitor's visa. (You'll have to research your Visa Office, but you could be looking anywhere from 4-10 months for PR.)

Inland means that your wife would remain in Canada with you while your application is processed. She can apply for an Open Work Permit (OWP) when she files her application, which will allow her to work here in Canada while her application is processed. The timeline for an inland application is often times twice or three times as long to get PR. So, even though she'd be able to live and work here in Canada while she waits, she would take longer to get PR. She also is encouraged not to leave Canada for long lengths of time, as the CIC has the right to deny PR should they try to contact her while she's out of the country.

So, ultimately the decision is yours.

Outland = can remain in own country AND/OR be a visitor to Canada while application is processed. Shorter PR times. No ability to work in Canada.

Inland = should remain in Canada. Longer PR times. May apply for Open Work Permit (OWP) and work in Canada while waiting.

And either way , she will not have health care until , for outland.. til she lands plus three months , and for inland.. I am not entirely sure but some point
after your approved as a sponsor at the very earliest which is at least 16 months. so either way ..
make sure she has sufficient health care coverage which could/should? include pregnancy coverage if that may be something that could happen
and she plans to be in Canada.
