Inpasarable, I'm sorry that you still haven't heard anything. My husband is afraid to call again because he thinks that we are blacklisted. Do you have the number to call from outside Canada? Where did you find it?

I don't think you should be afraid of calling. Unless you were rude when you call (which I doubt) they cannot put you on a blacklist. However, if you are planning to call instead of your husband, it s not going to work. They provide the information only to the sponsor. Have they stopped sending applications to mississauga. Haven't seen any recently get sent there. I'm still waiting for my SA. Hopefully it wont be too long

So your sponsor did not get an email from CIC, and he diligently kept checking his spam folder if he has one?

At this point you are only about a week away from when your sponsor should get SA, and if not then call CIC to ask after the website says they are working on applications on or after May 21.

I see now the processing site was updated and they are working on files received on May 19!

Thank you! From the sounds of it, most people are advising to call CIC if it's past your sending application date. Can I call them or does it have to be my husband who is the sponsor?

Hi zainy.. I'm also like you going crazy just like you. I'm 20 May applicants and we still didn't heard anything about my AOR. Maybe I didn't done my medical exams? I don't know .all May applicants are getting their SA .im really so happy for all .
I'm going to wait till next week,and then my sponser my husband will call them

Called CIC this morning and was told that first stage of my application was approved. They haven't send the email though. Yay! SA it is ;D

Hi all,

I sent in my application on May 19th, 2015 and it was received on May 21st, 2015. I called CIC today and was informed the following:

1. They have received my application so technically, I should have received AOR but nothing on my side
2. She was going to notify the office in Mississauga about this
3. She said that my application was going to be processed now

I'm sure they have their reasons for how they do things, but it can get confusing when everyone is given a different justification. We had mentioned that our preferred method of contact was via email (because we were moving so didn't want any mail delivered there) but she said they don't necessarily go by what you check as preferred (again, I'm confused).

Not sure why I didn't receive AOR (maybe they sent it to the address we told them NOT to send it to?) but just wanted to keep you guys posted if you are in the same boat as I am.

So my wife (the sponsor) called 1-613-944-4000 from outside of Canada and the officer told her that she can not give my wife details about if we were approved or not. The officer also said that we have to wait for the letter (not an email) which is being prepared to be send to us.

My question is: was anyone able to check (by calling CIC from outside of Canada) if he/she was approved as a sponsor?

Fairly certain that they're not doing too well with sending out the emails and mail right now. You're not alone!

And I am in the same boat too.. I just don't understand, how some people receive an email right away, and some not..and what can be so difficult to send a letter right away, so people don't have to worry and call to check the status many times. By the way, when we called we were told the same as Zainy, that even if we choose email as a preferred contact, the still can send correspondence by regular mail. Since we don't live in Canada right now, it will create some unnecessary logistic issues for us.
