thanks for having this spreadsheet. we've been working so hard at putting the stuff together.. have almost no idea what comes next! anyways i've added us to the list, we did not have our medicals done, we wrote a letter stating that we would wait until sponsor was approved. anyone think we should do this relatively soon anyways.. we were going to wait until august.

It won't really delay your application, but when you are approved as a sponsor, the letter will have a note saying: Applicant needs to do medical ASAP or your app may be delayed/denied. We got approved for sponsorship March 7th 2014, finished the medical April 1st 2014, and our ECAS was updated to medical results received May 7th-ish. So as far as we can tell it has not delayed our application at all, but I wouldn't wait too long after SA.

ah ok i didn't know! personally, i preferred doing the medical before so i don't have to worry about it after . especially if they decide to request further tests or something like that

Thanks for the welcome! So it does say 52 days. thats unfortunate. Oh well. If its anything like what I'm going to do, it's not the end of the world - She will be here as a visitor with applications for visitor extensions as we wait for everything. the first part is just nice to know its all filled out correctly.

Seems like they have processed only 1 day of applications within the last whole week

i noticed the processing times for stage 1 approval went up - 40 days .. wonder if it has something to do with the fact that they now process inland sponsorships in Mississauga as well ...

Check again. Today they are up to 52 days.

Hey Trav0370, are you going to wait for the sponsor approval before applying for the visitor visa?

The PR application is sent in. At this point now we will have her visit for 6 months, and THEN apply for a visitor visa/extension. Being visa exempt countries, we dont have to worry about this until that 6 month time limit comes up .

Based on how long CIC is saying, I am assuming that sponsor approval will come through before we end up reaching the 6 month time period. Either way it doesn't really matter though. As long as its done legally
