hi christlyn! cge sabihan mo sa hubby mo na i-declare na ang marriage nyo dun sa Canada... based sa mga people dito sa forum sis they said that we will only know when CEM received our papers when they send us our PPR na, dun na daw nila i-dedetalye kung kelan anong date dumating ang papers natin sa kanila.. the passport request i think will nasa 5-9 months daw since 14 months na yung processing times ngayon..... if nilagay mo email address mo sa form ay thru email nila ipapadala yung PPR but kung wla kang nilagay dun probably snail mail po...

hey ikon! yeah mostly in this thread are married in January hehe! i see, why did it took you over a year to submit your application? (if you don't mind me asking) :D oh well, this waiting game is really tough! :'( ???

She had to get surgery and I didn't want anything to come out of her medical check up for embassy so we waited for a year until her health was good.. then we also celebrated our honeymood and one year anniversary together, when I went back to the Phils...

i just hope that it will be straight forward as we have everything and anything CEM needed and more in our application...

Marriages that are legally performed in a foreign country are usually valid in Canada, and you do not need to register them in Canada. If you have questions about the validity of your foreign marriage, contact the Vital Statistics Office of your province or territory.

I hope this answers your question... (we sponsors do not have to declare our marriage unless we declare it in our taxes) in this case your husband declares it in his income tax return come 2014 tax season...

Hii! :) I'm the sponsor in our case. I also changed my status from single to married this year, I live in winnipeg, MB. I needed to change my address when I came back, so I thought na ideclare na nagpasakal na ako, hahaha este pakasal. Sabi ng nagprocess ng change of address ko on my health card, ok na daw. Wala na daw akong kailangan pang tawagan. It wouldn't really make any difference until you file your taxes as mentioned. At work, they required me to submit our marriage cert! :))

Di naman siguro. hahaha. I honestly don't know. I only feed on information given out by all other applicants. I hope not though. Wala naman kasi mababago kung idedeclare. Pero pa change mo na rin just to be on the safer side. Wag mo na ako kuyahin, girl ako. haha :D

When I got married to my wife-- i did not have to submit any reference of change status in my part of the application (except for that legal capacity to marry which is what I signed at the Canadian Consulate in Cebu.. ( my wife on the other hand, had to submit the CENOMAR, Marriage License, NBI, Police Check .. you name it (what ever they wrote on the check list for spousal visa).

They will be looking for lots of things and thats PROOF! PROOF! and more PROOF that your marriage is genuine and its not for convenience....
