hi sis! don't u worry S/G Beronia din naka recieve ng package ko..as per tracking sa WWWExpress..na reciev ng CEM last Oct.10 and i got DM last Nov.18th

Wow, congratulations DsWifey! What dept did you put on top of the address, is it Visa Section or Family Reunification Unit? Naparanoid lang talaga ako. Hehe. Good for you, you were able to track the status of your package. Ngayon kasi LBC's online tracking system might have been down kaya i need to send them message sa Facebook para sila magcheck ng status for me.

I have noticed that on the average the Canadian Embassy in Makati City is taking up to 6 months to begin working on your file and in some cases requesting your passport. I have recently learned that not only has the recent strike (which was resolved in July) has slowed things down considerably creating a backlog, but now I hear that the immigration division in Korea has been closed and all passports and immigration papers are now being processed at the Embassy in Manila. This is unfortunate because the Canadian government has not added any extra staff to work on any of these applications, thus creating an even larger back log. How much would it help if the Minister of Immigration and sponsors MP's here in Canada start writing their politicians here to do something about this? It wouldn't hurt, that's for sure and I know that our local Members of Parliament do actually read and react to their constituents concerns. I think I'll give it a try.

"How much would it help" ? Not a lot...the Harper Government doesn't give a hoot about family reunification..ooor they wouldn't be cutting costs in important areas like this....its all about money and they wont spend to accommodate regular people's needs...or wants.

but what my hubby does since its the same add but diff
department..he put both of the dept on top

Oh geez, I just hope they would forward it to the right department in case it goes to the wrong one. Anyhow, as long as it goes to the right address. Hehe.

By the way, we got almost the same timeline. Got my ppr on Nov 14, sent it on the 18th. Howd you know cem received your passport? Mine kasi cant be tracked by LBC kasi wala daw consignee. The last update i got from them it was released to s/g Beronia .

Interesting call from my immigration lawyer here in Toronto. Lawyer forwarded an inquiry on my file that was sent to CEM on Sept 04, 2013. Now what's interesting CEM usually takes up to 28 days to reply, however within 24hrs they get a reply from CEM. What is also strange is that CEM is saying the AOR at Manila was 08 August 2013. Now, I know that the file was originally sent to CPC in Mississauga, Ontario and I officially was given a letter to say I was approved to sponsor on 04 Sept. 2013, but CEM is saying that the AOR to Manila was on that date as well. Even my lawyer who has been an immigration attorney for quite sometime is quite surprised by all of this, in fact to the point where she mentioned she's never in all her years experienced something like this, with the quick response from CEM and the AOR. Anyways, good news is that the file is now being processed in Manila so crossing my fingers and praying that hopefully soon we'll be hearing more good news.

Go go go! Hehe. Nov 14 ako nag ppr. Sana talaga next week dm na or kahit december and by January visa on hand na. Hubby will be coming home sa January for our 1st wedding anniversary kasi we never thought na by nov may ppr na ko, so he booked ticket for January. Sana kasama nya na ko pagbalik nya Canada.
