Hi wish everyone well,

I just checked my status on cic and it listed * Permanent Residence Application Status - Application Received*

does that mean they not even start looking at my application form? cuz this status is not even one of the 4 status listed on their website

IN PROCESS / WITHDRAWN / DECISION MADE / COMPLETE

my visa office in Beijing has noticed us in June that they received our application form and its 2 months now they still havent even looked at it. But some of you already got approved in no time! :'(

I'm now in Canada for 1 month on my visitor status, will have 5 more months then I have to leave the country, I dont even know can I just travel to the States and come back again. Life here is not easy at all, everything is so expensive and i really want to start my life here and work, cant wait!!!

It will take some time due to the strike so there are delays. Why don't you just apply for an extension of stay? Saves you a ton of money from travelling back and forth.

BradneyJ - I think the passport request is just for people from countries that need a visa to even visit canada, so cic can put something in the passport for them to enter. Since you're from England you can travel freely.

I received an email at my email address today, its AOR from Beijing VO.

My sponsor *my fiancee* has received an email on 30 June briefly telling him Beijing got our application

Your enquiry has been received by the Canadian Embassy, Beijing -
Immigration Section.

For information and online case status: www.cic.gc.ca.

If your application is within normal processing times you may not receive
a reply.

If your message contains new information for your file, it will be updated
but you may not receive a reply.

more than a month now, I received an email from Beijing again, this time they attached an PDF acknowledgement letter in the mail.

This will confirm that we have received your application for permanent residence in Canada on

05/23/2013.

Your application has been assigned the above file number. Please take note of it for future reference.

Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the immigrant category in which you have applied

currently require approximately eight (8) months to process at this office for routine cases.

Be advised that your application is processing normally and is in queue for assessment.

They gave me my UCI no. and application no. again, which my sponsor has it month ago.

Any of you received AOR 2 time both side? sponsor and applicant? I wish I have more process but not just AORs.......

To the bro sister who got request passport, I hv a question, do I need to pay for the self address waybill? Or I just attach a waybill with my address on it without paying it? As I'm in Canada now n need to mail my passport to Beijing, but Canada DhL don't sell return waybill anymore. Any advise please? Thanks!

miladapril is right scoobydoo33, you have to provide good financial support for your trip, convince them that you're coming back to your country after the visit.

actually that's what I'm planning to do but then I don't have properties here. What I have only is the fund that my husband will provide so I don't think really if I could get a visa with only that...anyway my husband is coming home again and will come to visit us while we're still here...

hope you get some idea from this...

:) :) :)

Hey everyone,

So my husband just got a call from CIC he has an interview on August 27th and the lady said something about tribunal jurisdiction so they have to contact the Birmingham office and they will also contact the birth mother of my step daughter who is such a difficult person. What does this all mean? Are they just checking the validity of our relationship???

Hi all

I am British-born, and living in London, England. My Canadian-born husband travelled to Britain to marry me last year after we had known each other online for 7 years :)

We submitted our visa (him sponsoring me as spouse for permanent residency) at the beginning of May to Mississauga, and he was approved as a sponsor for me in 2 weeks!

Now, as it is an outland application, I am assuming it has been sent to London for the rest of the processing. But then the strike began :(

Does anyone here have any experience of getting their visa back earlier than the estimated processing time suggests?

My health is slowly getting worse, and I miss him... :'(
