MAY 2013 APPLICATION

Hi All,

I submitted my application on 6th may 2013 and it was received on 10th May. Ideally going by the trend I should be receiving my AOR before 30th June. But I ma encountering a strange problem as in India due to some govt regulations Credit cards are being upgraded and hence if the payment is not deducted before 30th June it will not process resulting in return of my application. Any advise to tackle this issue.

going by the trend in April 2013 applications, your card should be charged well before 30th June. You may also check with your card company as to whether they would honor the debit beyond the date if you pre=pay the amount and leave the credit balance with them - just thinking aloud!!

Bank has issued me a new card and they say that after 30th June my old card will not be functional. problem is with card details not being valid after 30th June.

oh man.. that's a tough on.. just pray that they give you your AOR first without charging your Credit Card .. or maybe they will notify you about your Credit Card.

The processing times webpage displays following alert -

"The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages."

Looks like we are in for a delay in receiving AORs.

Its hard to say if it will affect AORs as the locations shut down do not include Sydney. I think it will make a difference after we get our AORs.

Anyone else with other suggestions.

Just wondering if anyone received their AOR. Few people in the excel sheet have their expected AOR receive date in this week..

Mailed our file on May 4th. by XpressPost.
Then an idiot as I am lost the tracking no..... (kinda worried if they didn't receive it )

I wouldn't worry about it. There is a 99% chance that it was received.

Also, per the news updated on the CIC website about the Visa Officers' strike action lately, will our applications be massively delayed or be cut? since most of us haven't even received the AOR before the strike took place.

June 11, 2013 — The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

Guys, I would like everyone of you to check their status on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp and enter all their details. You will be using CID (Client ID#). Try it with both "-" and without it in the format of XXXX-XXXX and XXXXXXXX.

Maybe someone would have his/her file updated. Personally, I check everyday.

yeah, sry i was just reading through the earlier posts n try to catch up. Then hope everything will turn out to be fine. Thank you for the information. I will keep updating if I am informed of anything important.

Has anyone from may applicants received his AOR yet?? Seems processing for our applications will be slower.. I was happy to see that the average for AOR is 6 weeks and for medicals 6-8 months.. But now I am not as optimistic as I was before..

Hey guys,

Mailed out the CEC application on May 2nd, was rec'd May 6th in Sydney (I live in Toronto). Have not yet rec'd my AOR. Fingers crossed the strike will not affect the Sydney office....
