Hi everyone,

my CEC application was received on May 30th, but I still haven't received any AOR :(.
I've emailed CIC on Friday, but no answer yet.

I see a few other people here who applied in May but still haven't received any AOR. On the other hand, it seems people who applied after May have almost all received an AOR...

For those who haven't received their AOR : did you contact CIC ? What did they say ? What is your take on why it's taking so long ?

This whole process, the lack of feedback from CIC, and the fact they don't seem to process applications in the order they received them is really nerve-wrecking and annoying.

Hi ihabkal,

was your application under CEC program ? Just asking as I see (non CEC) in your timeline.

it is the first ever self employed application in Ottawa, and maybe the only one too.

you know my MP says that they told him it takes months to do criminal and security checks, so I might not hear form them for months, even though I got them FBI clearance and everything, and yet I see people gettign Medical in one month from applying.

Hi frenchie,

I can understand your concern. What my observation in this process is... applications sent to Sydney, NS before JUNE 15, 2012 are differently processed compared to the applications sent after JUNE 15 to Sydney. ( June 15 is an approximate date)

Applications sent before June 15 used to be directly sent to CPP-O, where CPP-O used to do the primilimany check on the application completeness and used to send them the AOR.

However, apps sent after June 15, are directly scrutinized by Sydney, NS office for completeness and allocating them the AOR. Thats how applicants sent after June 15 to NS are receiving their AORs before others (applicants who sent their apps before June15).

Receiving AOR doesn't confirm that their application taking precedence over others. What my observation is ....though they are allocation the AOR to some of the applicants who sent at a later date, the verification pool still remains the same as First Come first serve.

Remember that , verification pace varies from one officer to the other. However, allocation of an appllcation to an immigration oficer is the same order the applications were received at CPP-O.

still not clear.. is it under CEC program or any thing else? The way you said, it sounds like it is under "Investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed persons" category.

there is a self employed persons category within the business category, it is plagued with thousands of applications from people who want to open chewing gum stores whcih is crippling the system and slowing work on us legitimate self employed people who work in cultural activities which is a requirment (that or farming!!!).

Hi,

I just received an response from CPP saying:

Please note that our records show that your application was received on May xx, 2012. Your application has been transferred to CPP-Ottawa.

Our office will get in contact with you with further information, including the file number, in due time.

However, no precise timeframe can be provided.

I hope there is no delay for my application.;(

Thanks for the info cecapp369, hopefully it holds true for me as well.

noidea4id : yes, I'm French too :-). Thanks a lot for your PM, for whatever reason I can't reply to your PM, it keeps giving me an error message.

This is great news dxplatinum !

Did you send your enquiry to this email : CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca ?
How long did it take for them to reply ?

Not quite sure if their reply is equivalent to an AOR though, what do you think ?
