may 2011 inland and sent to oshawa april 2012.. please help

sent and start processing my papers may 30, 2011 they transfer to oshawa ofc april, 2012 up to now don't know whats happening.
the person that i talked to said that in oshawa it might take another 18 months. but ive been waiting for 1 year now.

i wanted to work now. and 1 more i didnt include open permit application. but i still have work permit under live-in caregiver but will expire march 2012. If i apply for a new work permit will it affect the processing of my pappers or will it be denied if i apply for a work permit since my pr is on process under spousal sponsorship..
please help me..
