I am May 2010 applicant. I submitted full doc on Nov 22 2010 and I am yet to get my 2ND AOR. When I send an enquiry to the Visa Office, I got the following reply-- What does this mean?

Dear Sir,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Your file is currently in queue to be paper-screened by an officer. Once this screening takes place, you will be contacted with regards to the next steps in the processing of your application.

Please also quote your xxxxxxxx

Thank you for cooperation and for your interest in immigrating to Canada.

Seniors, what they meant by paper screening..

I got my 2nd AOR around 8 months back so just want to know what I've achieved so far ;D

Thanks

(Frustrated to see RBVO daily morning for last 8 months)

Hi

Thanks alizia and sgeovar,

well i had a freind and we are from the same place and visa office he got a new file no. hope buffalo fastrack are papers...Godspeed..

Thanks to all. cheers..

Angelpot,

I have the same file number for both 1st and 2nd AOR. My VO is Manila/NBA. In my 2nd AOR, it says that an eligibility is yet to be determined. I think that the VO will still give us new file number when the VO opens our file for the determination of eligibility. I'm not sure about this, just an opinion.

HI CHAY,

Thanks for the feedback, well as far I know, when we got our 2nd AOr the eligibilty of our papers has begun already, meaning they already had the papers review. So I'm still confused why others got the same file no., I just read one article that you will have another file no. if your docs. where transfered from others visa office so therefore in our case we had no tranfering of files from other offices, Hope Seniors will enligthen us with this, Hope there is no negative thing happens if we have the same file no. if it is the case it does'nt matter right ? Godspeed....

Pls. anyone got inputs pls. share...Thanks

Hi,

The actual processing of papers began when your E-CAS status changed to "in process", Visa offices sent 2nd AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt) just to confirm that they received your application .

As far as 2 different file number goes, I can only make out from the forum that the applicant who applied in May 2010 got only one file number i.e. From CIO.

Mine visa office is New Delhi but am staying in UK and I got only 1 file number which I received from CIO starting from Bxxxxxxxx.

I applied in May 2010 & I only received one file number from CIO to Canadian embassy Manila. I don't think receiving one or two file numbers would make any difference at all.

Just my two cents. :D

i also have same file number (im a May 2010 applicant) but my friend has a different file number from 1st aor to 2nd aor. shes a sep 2009 applicant. got her visa on march 2011. and flew to canada on May 2011.

I am also a May 2010 applicant, got my first AOR in Oct 2010. I sent my full docs in jan & received my 2nd AOR in a week with the same file number.

Hello!

Generally, if you are sending the suppoting documents after getting 1st AOR to the CHC in you country, most probably u will have same file number from visa office.
On the other hand if you need to send the docs to VO other than your country where you are residing, you will have different file number.. As all pakistani applicants get different file number from VO because they send their docs to London VO for processing.
Hope i made you understand..However same or different file numbers do not make any difference,

Cheers

Hi Guys,

I was in this batch originally when I applied for PR from New York on May 13 2010 and was rejected because I did not fill job duties carefully. But now I have a job with investment bank in Montreal and I have started working since June 05 here. Now what are the options do I have on Work Permit? Can I apply for PR or do I need to wait for 2 years to apply under 2 year canada experience category?

Thanks
Girish
Apply now so that the wait period in processing will add to your experience when you file is taken for processing

This year only 10000 new applications will be accepted. Same skills as last years, just 500 applications for each catagory.. wow they really look determined to clear back log :).. but their focus is on pre 2008 applications,, so good luck to all pre 2008 seniors :)

Guys Any idea on what new is about to come in new rules which were scheduled to come out on July 1st, 2011. How long we still need o wait...
