Dear All,
Nevil here -26th May applicant and waiting for1st AOR.
My confusion is my wife's passport is expiring in Oct 2011 and if i get 1st AOR in septemeber mid and if I submit full doc to VO in Nov-Dec 2010 then my wife's paasport will be considered ok?! her passpot is expiring in oct 2011 .r should i renew it now onl s we will be having 120 days time!!!Pl. note that my wife is not a principle applicant.
Experts pl. advice.

Don't get confused right now. Oct. 2011 is a long way away... first get to the stage of medicals at least.
You can submit the current passport copies when you get call for documents. You can always get a new one (if required) later... Worst situation get it in tatkal (2-3 days max.)
They need 6 months validity min. for issue of Visa.

Thanks Yukon but somewhere i have read that passport validity should be one year when u apply to VO and if its not valid when i apply to VO probably in Nov-Dec the case should nt get distubred because of a silly thing.

Don't worry it will not.... I know of cases where the passports have expired from the time the forms/documents were submitted. You just need to update the VO later with the new passport details.
Only when you get the Passport request, at that time your passport needs to be valid for preferably 1 year atleast, else 6 months. Because the visa is valid as long as the passport is valid or 1 year, whichever is earlier.
